Announcing a New CAP Debt Centre Manager for Churches Together in Chepstow & District
After 3 years of tireless voluntary service as the CAP Debt Centre Manager for this area, Isobel Mead has finally decided to retire…from retirement! The churches, as well as the many individuals who have benefitted from her caring support, are immensely grateful to her for all she has done in this role and we wish her all the best as she takes a rest and seeks God guidance for the future.
Whilst Isobel generously gave her time to serve in a voluntary capacity, many other CAP Debt Centres employ staff to manage the intricate and often stressful workload. The Steering Group of the Chepstow Debt Centre, after much prayer, discussion and serendipitous conversations, have taken a major decision, with the full backing of the CYTUN committee, to employ a part-time Centre Manager. This post will be for 16 hours a week which will enable us to continue to support two new clients each month, helping them to become debt free.
Following a rigorous selection process, we are pleased to announce that David Price will be taking up this new role from 1st November 2018. David lives with his family in Lydney, worships at Stroat Church and has had connection with this area for many years.
Isobel will continue to work alongside Dave offering support for a transition period before completely handing over the reins at the end of November. She will also continue to offer her skills and expertise on the Steering Group and by running CAP Money courses.
All the local churches financially support the invaluable work of the Debt Centre as well as many individuals. We already have funds to guarantee a one year contract but will be seeking further grants and financial support to extend this project.
