Many of you will have heard or seen the name Penycaemawr Chapel as one of the Chapels in the Circuit but how many of you know exactly where it is? It is nestled on the edge of the small hamlet of Penycaemawr which is between Wentwood and Usk and I think it would be fair to say that it commands the best views of all the Chapels in the circuit.
Although situated in a very rural and sparsely populated area the Chapel recently celebrated its 121st Anniversary which is an indication of the devotion of its members over the years. Services are held on the second and forth Sunday of the month at 3.00pm and sometimes there may only be a handful of members present but whenever there is a special occasion, such as the Harvest services and Anniversary, friends travel from far and wide to swell the congregation and the hymn singing can be heard across the land! Recently we held our first cell group meeting which got off to a good start – these will be held at 3.00pm on the first Sunday of every month.
Penycaemawr has an air of tranquillity and peace about it and feels as if time has stood still in our little chapel but one thing is for sure, you will get a very warm welcome.
